It’s 7:30 in the morning on December 27th as I type this. I can’t quite believe it but thanks to your continued support I just reached a new milestone on this blog. 10K views. 😍 I’m up 3K views compared to last year, which is pretty incredible. “Someone up there really likes me!”
I’d seen that I was getting close, but I didn’t think I was going to hit it before the end of the year. I know “the numbers” aren’t why we do this, but it was still really satisfying to reach it.

I feel like the tail end of 2020 was the highspot for that. This year has been a bit more tapered. Just as well, wouldn’t want everyone to think we’re idiots after all 😉

Thankfully no. Once I spoke sharply to that blasted akismet rep and let my opinion be heard, I haven’t had a problem since 😀

I took the first picture 10 minutes before the second picture. It was great seeing it pass that milestone “in real time”. I don’t know why but I had a big jump in views yesterday (Dec. 27th). 😀 Btw, my brother lives in Germany so you can’t take *all* the credit. 😉

Nicely done. I know what you mean about numbers not being why we do this, and I agree, but it is nice to know there are folks out there who enjoy what we do. And I certainly enjoy what you do, so keep at it!

Congrats on these numbers! It really isn’t about the numbers, but what I would say is that they snowball; ie it’s easier to get from 10 thousand to 20 thousand than it is to get from 5 thousand to 10 thousand. But having written for 3 million readers a day at newspapers, I can assure you that you’ll never get as many positive comments anywhere else as you do from the WP community, it’s the most user-friendly way to get ideas out there. So enjoy the ride, it’s downhill all the way (if you’re skiing!) Obviiously, your brilliant content and turn of phrase help…
