Manchester Trip ’17

Best wishes to all for the festive season!

I am in Manchester, England visiting my dad. It’s very cold with a tiny bit of snow. Eating & drinking too much, and getting  some reading in.

After a night of sub-zero temperatures, I woke to a blanket of white draped across the world outside. The snow had fallen while we slept. I hadn’t dreamt of snow, but I have been re-reading ‘The Dark is Rising‘ which is full of it – so full that at times it feels like it’s going to drift out from between the pages of the book. Good morning! It’s a cold and windy one here in Yonago, Japan. The wind is whistling through the tiny gaps in the windows as I type this. I have a kettle on top of the kerosene heater releasing a little steam into the room. This helps to counter the dryness of the air as well as offering the opportunity to make another pot of tea.
